A VW bought from BW CampersGetting F**ked Without Being Kissed

Behind The Scenes...

Rene's Business Card

The above new business card that sits next to my laptop as I write reads "René Kluver - commercial director"... I was given the card in late winter/early spring of 2007. What's wrong with this? Simple: René Kluver is the owner of BW Campers and has been since 2002… you have to ask yourself: why does the owner of a business hide his ownership? Does a company that operates open and aboveboard hide the most basic of information??

It is useless to send emails to Richard Woudenberg as he is my employee.
I am the owner of BW Campers since 2002
Best Regards, René

I have been receiving e-mails informing me that customers are being directed to Richard Woudenberg, who is still shilling actively working for BW Camperrental. There is also a young protégé named Pim working there. The communications I receive tell me that these two are now the people the public will deal with until it is time to sign the contract... then, you'll met the actual owner - René Kluver. And, it now looks like other "employees" are in fact partners... so, take what you hear from the head mechanic with a large dose of salt as he too has a vested interest.

Beware of storing campers in Amsterdam! I had noticed that BW Campers washed their campers with a extremely harsh soap that pretty quickly eats off the glossy surface of the body paint. When I asked why this was so I was told that the vehicles are stored in an area at the end of a runway in Schiphol International Airport… the accumulated grim of 4 or 5 months of jumbo jet exhaust taking off and landing requires strong measures to clean them up. So, you'll pay 60 or more euros a month for the privilege of having your vehicle sitting in one of the most polluted spaces in Europe!

If you are unlucky enough to enter into a buyback scheme with BW Camperrentals, you will likely find your purchase in their shop for repair. One of the first disappointing things you will hear is "they don't make that part anymore"... and, that is pure bullshit. Next, you'll be told they can make a repair that will keep things going, it is just that things won't work like they used to... that is NOT bullshit! Of course, when it's time for the buyback, those parts that could have made your camper fully functional are suddenly available. Check out the report at the bottom of the "more stories" page.
